Born in England and educated both in Europe and America I came to America to study at Atlantic Union College in Massachusettes. Both my parents were Seventh-day Adventist teachers and I longed to follow in their footsteps. My first degree in Education was from Bath, England followed by a BS from Atlantic Union College. After graduation and marriage to Lowell Peterson the family moved to Washington DC and my career in teaching began at John Nevins Andrews School under the leadership then of Mrs Tymeson. While teaching I worked on my MFA from George Washington University. Since 1987 I have been teaching art at Sligo Adventist School and am happy to frequently meet with the many students I have mentored over the years as an art teacher in the Adventist School system.
