Emergency School Closing Policy 

Weather-related cancellations and delayed openings at Sligo School conform to those announced by Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). When MCPS open on time, Sligo can be expected to open on time. If MCPS announce a weather-related delay or closing, Sligo School will follow suit.
Families are advised to listen to radio station WGTS FM and WTOP (http://WTOP.com) and major TV network stations for announcements during bad weather.
IF SCHOOL OPENS LATE, students will be allowed into the building one and a half hours before opening time. Please do not leave children unsupervised on school grounds.

Unexpected Early Dismissal
In the event of an unexpected early dismissal during the school day (e.g. water main break, mid-day snow storm, electricity failure, etc.), parents are responsible for picking up their children as quickly as possible. A fee for the supervision of children will begin 45 minutes after the announced closing time.
