For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11
"What makes a king out of a slave? Courage! What makes the flag on the mast to wave? Courage! What makes the elephant charge his tusk in the misty mist, or the dusky dusk? What makes the muskrat guard his musk? Courage!" Wizard of Oz
Hello,
My name is Kerrian Wanga and I am the Assistant to the Principal and Computer Skills teacher at Sligo. I have been teaching at Sligo since 2001. My first introducation to Sligo school came in fourth grade when my family moved from Brooklyn, NY to Takoma Park, MD. I graduated from Sligo and continued my education at Takoma Academy. After graduating from the University of Maryland Baltimore County with my Bachelor's degree, I joined Sligo's faculty. I graduated with my MFA from the American University in 2009.
In an increasingly technological world, it is important for children to develop a strong foundation in computer science. Students should be exposed to different types of computer programs to help them recognize the wide range of uses for the computer and how computers can benefit them in everyday life. My goal is to build on students' current skills while challenging them to develop new ones.
