Karri McFadden B.S., M.S.

I have a BA in Liberal Studies - Elementary Education from la Sierra University and a MS in Education - Reading from John Hopkins University.  In addition to my academic preparation for teaching I have taught second grade, Kindergarten here at Sligo for four years, third grade in Prince William County Virginia, and English as a Second Language in Shanghai, China.

Currently I am thoroughly enjoying my time in second grade.  Outside of teaching my time is spent sewing, reading, traveling, taking pictures, and baking.  I enjoy being active and participating in the occasional race.

My greatest prayer is that my students will come to know and accept the love that God has for them.  My goal is to send them to third grade with the academic, social and spiritual tools they need to continue to grow and be successful.

Greetings from Sligo’s Second Grade! My name is Karri Hill McFadden, better known to my students as Mrs. McFadden. I was born and raised in California, but have enjoyed living on the East Coast with my husband for the last few years. My teaching experience includes third grade, kindergarten, English (as a language), and now second grade. I have enjoyed teaching different places such as: California, China, Virginia and now Maryland. I have a Bachelors of Arts degree in Liberal Studies-Elementary Education and am nearing the completion of my Masters of Science Degree in Reading (done Fall 2007, Yeah!). I truly enjoy teaching and feel blessed to teach at a Christian school where I can share Jesus with my students daily.
